Nestor is a young man who works the night shift as a receptionist at a hotel off the highway. He sees no future ahead of him in the small city in northern Mexico where he lives with his mother, Lilia. She has recently lost her job due to her company downsizing and she’s also looking for a way forward. Nestor’s only choice seems to be to move in with her sister in the United States. Nevertheless, moving away would mean leaving his mother alone. After mother and son drive to the family cabin, they find memories and problems that tie them to the past, things they could never resolve. As they face the present, they’ll have to reconcile the past in order to move forward with their lives.
